About SugarFix Poms |
|
My name is Lenore Gish and I live with my husband (George) and our dogs on three acres of land in Claresholm (a small town between Calgary and Lethbridge). We’re in the province of Alberta, in western Canada. Our adventure into dog shows and breeding began in 1995 when we purchased our first Lowchen. For the next ten years we bred these “little lion dogs” under the “GeoLen” prefix and enjoyed many successes in the whelping boxes and at the shows. The highlight of our Lowchen adventure was in 2004 when we won Best in Show, Best of Winners, Best Puppy and Best Sire and Get at the Lowchen Club of Canada National Specialty. What a great year that was! In 2004 several things happened. I turned 50 and asked for a Pomeranian to mark this turning point. CH Pomhaven’s Electric Star joined our family. What a wonderful advocate for this great breed. She was such fun to show and even more fun to live with. As more Poms joined the family I made the decision to pursue this new passion and “call it a day” with the Lowchen. While I will always have a Lowchen in my home I now exclusively show and soon hope to breed Pomeranians. It seemed an appropriate time to change my kennel name so “SugarFix” was chosen. Hopefully the first SugarFix Poms will be whelped in 2007. More changes have followed, including cutting back to teaching only part time. Grandchildren have begun arriving and life continues to be full of surprises and new challenges. Without the support of family and friends my dog adventures would not be possible. Thanks to those more experienced Pomeranian breeders who have mentored me along the way and to all those breeders who have entrusted their dogs to me. |
